With almost 7hrs of action the event lived up to the hype with everyone's skill levels at an all time high. Congratulations to the highest grading scores in each class.

It was great to see everyone overcome mental and physical hurdles to achieve their goals.
I hope everyone enjoyed the night as much as myself and i was very proud of all my students for their efforts on the night.

Kids Safety Seminar
Almost 100 kids attended our recent safety seminar.
They were treated to a demonstraion by the local Fire Brigade. They had a close up look at one of Brisbane's larger trucks and had the chance to look in the elevated platform and also got to put out a fire with the extinguishers. We then headed back inside to learn how to protect them from bullies and child abductors. Next years event will be bigger and better with the involvement of the Police and Ambulance.
Thanks to David and the crew for their demos.

Benny "The Jet"
Wow! What an amazing weekend with Sensei Benny.
At 57yrs old he still runs rings around the young guns.
The seminar started with a warm up and awesome stretching techniques.
We then went onto sparring drills and some contact sparring with various partners.
After the seminar myself and some of the Instructors had dinner with Master Benny where we were lucky enough to hear about not only his training techniques but also philosiphies on life and martial arts.
The next morning Master Benny joined myself and my family for breakfast at a local restaurant where we continued our discussions from the previous night. Master Benny had an indepth conversation with my 8yr old Daughter Alyssa about what it felt like to become a Champion as she had recently won her first National title.
Unfortunately it was then time to say our goodbyes and i hope to catch up with Master Benny very soon to continue my journet in the Martial Arts with him.

Australian Martial Arts Championships 09
Congratulations to Alyssa and Bailey on becoming National Champions on the weekend.
Both had to battle a very tough field to secure their wins with approx 20 kids in each of thier divisions from all over Australia.
Alyssa won the U8 forms and place 3rd in the U13 weapons division.
Bailey won the U12 freestyle sparring and was runner up in the U12 points sparring division.
Both have train exceptionally hard this year and deserve their wins.
